East African Samosa Bread
|
To make a 1lb loaf of East African Samosa Bread you will need
Ingredients
| 1/4 | pounds | Minced beef | | 1 | | Garlic clove; chopped | | 1 | small | Onion; chopped | | 1 1/2 | teaspoons | Active dry yeast | | 8 1/2 | oz | Bread flour | | 1 | teaspoon | Salt | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Ground cumin | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Ground cardamon | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Grated nutmeg | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Ground cinnamon | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Ground black pepper | | 6 | fl oz | Water | | 1 1/4 | oz | Frozen green peas |
Instructions
1. In a large frying pan, prefably non-stick, cook the beef, stirring to break up lumps of meat, until no longer pink, 3 to 5 minutes. Add the onion and garlic and cook until the onion is softened, 3 to 5 minutes longer. Let cool. 2. Add the cooled beef mixture and all remaining ingredient except the peas in the order suggested by your bread manual and process on the basic bread cycle according to the manufacturer's directions. **Remember if you are setting this up to bake for breakfast to make sure the wet ingredients are put in first with the flower on top and put the yeast in a well in the flour to prevent it being activated before needed. 3. At the beeper (or at the end of the first kneading)add the still-frozen peas.
Eat your east african samosa bread warm or cool, cut into wedges instead of slices.
