Beef and Corn Pie recipe

To make Beef and Corn Pie you will need
Ingredients
| 2 | pounds | Ground beef | | 1 | medium | Onion; chopped | | 1 | | Green pepper; seeded, halved and diced | | 1 | can | (19-oz) crushed tomatoes | | 2 | cups | Frozen whole-kernel corn | | 2 | teaspoons | Salt | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Black pepper | | 1/4 | teaspoons | Garlic powder | | 1/2 | cups | All purpose flour | | 1/2 | cups | Yellow cornmeal | | 2 | teaspoons | Baking powder | | 2 | teaspoons | Sugar | | 1/2 | teaspoons | Salt | | 1 | | Egg | | 3/4 | cups | Milk |
Instructions
Shape beef into a large patty in a large skillet; brown for 5 minutes on
one side and cut into quarters. Turn; brown 5 minutes on second side;
remove to paper towels. Pour off all but 2 tbs pan drippings; add onion and
green pepper to drippings in skillet and cook til lightly browned. Add the
tomatoes, corn, the 2 tsp salt, pepper and garlic powder. Bring to a boil;
simmer for 10 minutes. Crumble meat into the mixture. Pour into a casserole
dish. Mix together flour, cornmeal, baking powder, sugar and 1/2 tsp salt
in small mixing bowl; add egg and milk. Stir until smooth. Pour over the
top of the meat mixture. Bake in 400 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until
top is golden brown.
